Neon Road Trip by John Barnes

I ran across a great coffee table book the other day and just knew I had to share it – “Neon Road Trip,” by John Barnes.

Barnes, a Seattle-based photographer, traversed the US and Canada by RV over a two and a half year period in search of vintage neon signs. Covering 38 states and 5 Canadian provinces, Barnes took over 50,000 photos of vintage neon.

Barnes published “Neon Road Trip,” a collection of highlights from his trip, in March of 2020. The book is a look back at an earlier time in our history, and is a great repository of those vintage advertisements and signs that are slowing disappearing.

We’ve included below a few of the amazing vintage neon signs that he documented along his journey, but if you are a lover of vintage neon signs, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of his book today!
